History
“From end to end, the entire beach is very peaceful and beautiful. The waters are many, infinite, in such a graceful way that wanting to take it will give you all, all because of the water it has”. This is a quote from Pero Vaz de Caminha when finding the coast in 1500 DC. A place that breads history, located south of Bahia, where Cabral found Brazil. Where it was celebrated the first mass. Where the missions mixed cultures, and where the Brazilians found the riches of cocoa.
This is where it starts the history of the Ecovila da Mata, in a region considered natural heritage of mankind, because it holds one of the largest biodiversity of the planet. A piece of the Atlantic forest protected from the dangers of extinction.
Today only 7% of these ecosystems are left and there are several options for sustainable tourism at the coast of the findings. It is the case of sports fishing of mari, the observation of the egg laying of the seas turtles. It is also possible to visit what was left of the culture of the Patachó tribe, or even to find the beautiful fauna of the high seas reefs.
